Great British Bake Off is back on our TV! This week was bread week and inspired by some of our favorite beeswax candles we decided to share one of our favorite bread recipes. Jamie Oliver’s Banana and Honey bread (delish).

You will need:download

1 x basic bread recipe found here on the Jamie Oliver website

6 x bananas peeled

8 x tsp of runny honey

1 x handful of almonds chopped.

According to Jamie you will need to blitz the bananas in a food processor (the mix will be surprisingly wet). Place the banana mix in a jug and top up with water until it makes 625ml or just over 1 pint. At stage one of the basic bread recipe you will replace the water with this banana mix. Also add half the honey with the nuts at this point of the dough. Continue with the recipe for basic bread.

Next, at Stage 5 of the basic bread recipe divide the dough into 10 balls. Then place these next to each other in a flour-dusted baking tin where they will prove together. Before you put the bread in the oven drizzle generously with the rest of the honey so that the top of the bread will caramelize, going nice and golden. Bake in your preheated oven at 190ºC for 20 minutes. Allow to cool for a little while

Best served with a hot cup of coffee or tea and burning a beeswax candle. Thanks Jamie!
